The LCW marathon is a completely different course to the Ironman one anyway so there is not much you can learn from doing it and it is fairly brutal.
Those were my thoughts when I did it a few years ...

I used a TT bike in 2014. It was fine for me. A stunning course.

I did however fall off of my bike that year.
