I've noticed that EBikes are getting ever-more integrated as a result of technology, and they've started making their 'mark' on Strava. I'm wondering how long before Officials at races are going to have to start keeping a close eye out for them in transition?

The UCI iPad is comical, but would I'm sure catch the very cheapest hidden ones, and with the captive bikes in transition there is actually no reason not to spend the swim checking the bikes in any significant race - in bike racing it's very easy to do a switch after the test in the UK UCI races at least.
I'm sure the cheating is happening already.

In weaker riders, it's pretty obvious as their average speed is often slower than their climbing speed. But in a race, there's nothing stopping someone strong from using it sparingly on climbs, enough for it to make a difference, but not be obvious. I bet I could turn-up for a small race somewhere and it'd slip through the net; certainly if you're known to be a decent standard, hence no suspicions raised.
Maybe someone should buy one and do an 'Icarus' type vlog on trying to use it at races.

You could make power meters compulsory, it'd be pretty obvious then...
May as well, most people who can afford the entry fee and a bike to be competitive, probably have one anyway.

Of course it wouldn't, it's trivial to install a device which generates a fake ANT+ power trace, I actually have one that sits between a real power meter and zwift to make up for Zwift's minimum weight limit of 45kg.

Was pretty much joking, but that would seem to be hassle on top of bother, each one of which adds complexity and to the chances of getting caught out...

It's only a matter of time until someone has an e-bike class in a tri to make it more "inclusive". We already have the rise of aquabike for those that can't/don't want to run.
Can you get an M-dot tattoo if you used an e-bike?

I was going to add that e-bikes are becoming a menace on my commute too, when this came up - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-45497026
The implication is that the "cyclist" in this hit-and-run was on an e-bike.
Oh and don't get me started on electric scooters - if you're travelling at "cycling" speeds and you've decided that you need to wear a helmet, there's no way that you should be weaving through pedestrians on the pavement

The fact that the bike was dumped nearby suggests it was stolen perhaps?

Whisk, did you see the video of what happened? From my perspective that can happen to any cyclist. What I can't tell from the video is how quickly the guy was going.
Jorgan, Stolen? perhaps. Derestricted (and so illegal)? perhaps. Concussion and had no idea what happened? perhaps.
